Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Eatrys collects when you use the Eatrys customer and vendor apps and related services (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Eatrys operates a marketplace that helps people discover mobile food vendors (food trucks, carts, trailers, pop-ups, and stands), order ahead for pickup, and request catering, and helps vendors run their business. This policy applies to both the customer app and the vendor app.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — name, email address, phone number, and a password (stored only as a salted hash). If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive basic profile information from that provider.
• Orders & catering requests — the items you order, pickup details, event details for catering, notes, and order history.
• Reviews & content — ratings, reviews, photos, and other content you choose to submit.
• Vendor information (vendor app) — business name, menu, photos, schedule, service locations, and identity/verification documents you submit for payouts and trust & safety (KYC).
• Communications — messages you send us or exchange through the Service, and your support requests.

Information we collect automatically

• Location — with your permission, we use your device location to show food trucks near you and, for vendors who go online, to broadcast the truck’s live location to customers. You control this through your device settings (see §5).
• Device & usage — device type and operating system, app version, a device/installation identifier, and diagnostic and crash data to keep the app working.
• Push tokens — if you enable notifications, a push token so we can deliver the alerts you opt into.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do notcollect or store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles your card data under its own terms and PCI-compliant systems; we receive limited information such as a payment confirmation, the last four digits, and card brand.

3. How we use information

• Provide and operate the Service — show nearby and live trucks, take and fulfill orders, process catering, and route payouts to vendors.
• Process payments, platform fees, tips, and refunds.
• Send transactional messages and the notifications you opt into (e.g., order status, a followed truck going live).
• Maintain safety, prevent fraud and abuse, verify vendor identity, and enforce our Terms.
• Understand and improve the Service, including diagnosing crashes and measuring performance.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

• Vendors — when you place an order or catering request, we share the details the vendor needs to prepare and fulfill it (e.g., your name, order, and pickup/contact details).
• Payment processing — Stripe, to process payments and vendor payouts.
• Service providers — vendors who help us run the Service under contract, such as cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), push notifications (OneSignal), and crash/diagnostics (Sentry, Google Firebase). They may process information only on our behalf.
• Maps — Google Maps/Places to power discovery and addresses.
• Legal & safety — to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Eatrys, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice consistent with this policy.

5. Location data & your control

Location is used to find trucks near you and, for vendors, to share a truck’s live location while online. You can enable or disable location at any time in your device settings. The customer app remains usable without precise location — you can browse by entering a city or area — though discovery will be less tailored. When a vendor goes offline, the app stops sharing that truck’s live location.

6. Notifications

If you opt in, we send push notifications (for example, order updates or a followed truck going live) via OneSignal. You can turn notifications off in the app or your device settings at any time.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then retain and delete it in line with our legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Some operational and diagnostic data is kept only for a limited period and then removed.

8. Your rights & choices

• Access & correction — view and update your profile in the app.
• Delete your account — you can delete your account from within the app. Deletion removes your profile and disassociates your data, including clearing your push identity and your customer record with our payment processor, subject to information we must retain by law.
• Notifications & location — control these in the app and device settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, or deletion). Contact us to exercise them.

9. Security

We protect information using measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, scoped access controls, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to issues.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

Eatrys is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or by email.
